About The Position

The Client Success Lead owns the relationship after the handshake. This role is responsible for building trust with new clients, strengthening existing partnerships, and making sure what was sold is executed with clarity and consistency. They sit at the intersection of sales and recruiting—close enough to both sides to prevent disconnects, solve problems early, and keep the client experience human, strategic, and high-touch. This person will oversee the health of every requisition under their client accounts, not by directly managing recruiters, but by driving alignment, communication, and accountability across the process. They will partner closely with the Head of Sales and Head of Recruiting, attend both weekly meetings, and help ensure VHS delivers on its promise to bring humanity back to hiring. This role currently does not have direct reports, but may evolve into a people leadership position as the organization grows.

Requirements

  • Experience in account management, client success, business development, recruiting, staffing, or a related client-facing role
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong business relationships
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to navigate both external client conversations and internal cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience managing multiple priorities, stakeholders, and active accounts at once
  • Ability to operate strategically while staying close to day-to-day execution
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and accountability
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment

  • Experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, staffing, or veteran hiring is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and deepen trusted relationships with new and existing client partners
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client communication, satisfaction, and strategic account development
  • Create a high-touch, high-trust client experience that reflects the VHS mission and brand
  • Partner with the Head of Sales to help establish new client relationships and expand current accounts
  • Support client onboarding and set clear expectations around process, communication, and success metrics
  • Identify opportunities for account growth, stronger engagement, and long-term partnership
  • Maintain accountability for all open requisitions within assigned client accounts
  • Monitor progress, urgency, alignment, and delivery across active searches
  • Partner with recruiting leadership to ensure search activity matches client expectations and business priorities
  • Escalate risk, friction, or process breakdowns early and proactively
  • Act as the bridge between sales and recruiting, ensuring clean handoffs, strong internal communication, and aligned execution
  • Attend and contribute to both weekly sales meetings and weekly recruiting meetings
  • Translate client feedback, concerns, and priorities into actionable direction for internal teams
  • Help both teams stay aligned on account strategy, search status, and relationship health
  • Strengthen retention through proactive communication, responsiveness, and strategic problem-solving
  • Address client concerns and executive escalations with professionalism, urgency, and ownership
  • Ensure clients feel supported, understood, and confident in the VHS process
  • Turn strong client partnerships into long-term advocates for VHS
  • Identify trends across client relationships, requisition flow, and service delivery
  • Recommend improvements that strengthen the client experience and improve coordination between teams
  • Help define what “great client success” looks like at VHS as the function continues to mature
