Client Relationship Executive

BGBx
•$250,000 - $325,000•Remote

About The Position

BGBx is seeking a senior, quota-carrying Client Relationship Executive to own a portfolio of named, high-potential pharmaceutical and life sciences accounts and drive integrated growth across BGBx Consulting and BGBx Communications. The role acts as a trusted advisor to commercialization leadership, develops senior client relationships, and turns those relationships into staffed and delivered engagements across BGBx capabilities. It is Consulting-leaning in orientation while bringing Communications capabilities forward as appropriate. The executive originates and orchestrates opportunities with practice and delivery leaders; the role connects teams and does not replace practice expertise or delivery leadership. The position focuses on strategic account growth, new-logo opportunities, cross-divisional and cross-practice selling, and leadership of client pursuits. The executive is expected to understand the commercialization journey, translate strategy into actionable account plans, and represent client intelligence internally. Success is measured by revenue growth, retention, multi-capability engagements, pipeline progression, and senior relationship depth. The role may be performed remotely within the United States, with compensation adjusted based on location. Travel is required as needed for client and business requirements.

Requirements

  • 12–15+ years in pharmaceutical/life sciences or commercial consulting leadership, with demonstrated ability to sell senior strategic engagements.
  • Fluency across the commercialization value chain, ideally with direct experience in at least two of New Product Planning, Go-to-Market Strategy, Market Access, Brand Strategy, and Medical Communications.
  • Track record of opening and expanding accounts at the SVP/C-suite level within pharmaceutical commercial organizations, rather than only managing relationships handed to them.
  • Significant named-account relationship and business development experience, with a proven ability to increase account penetration and generate revenue opportunities across new and existing client relationships.
  • Strong professional services sales experience and understanding of how client work is scoped, sold, and delivered.
  • Success operating within an account-team model and influencing cross-functional teams in client pursuits without relying on direct authority.
  • Established network of relevant client and industry relationships that can help create access and opportunity.
  • Comfort with being measured on revenue origination and cross-sell rather than billable delivery.
  • Consulting-leaning instinct, exceptional executive presence, and strong communication skills; able to discuss portfolio strategy and launch campaigns credibly, even if execution depth is concentrated in one area.
  • Technology and AI fluency, including the ability to understand and apply emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, and modern problem-solving methodologies to identify opportunities, improve solutions, and drive client innovation.
  • Ability to travel as needed based on client and business requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience delivering client work.
  • Direct experience in at least two of New Product Planning, Go-to-Market Strategy, Market Access, Brand Strategy, and Medical Communications.

Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of 3–4 named strategic accounts and develop account plans mapping BGBx capabilities across both divisions to clients’ commercialization needs.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new-logo opportunities aligned with BGBx’s capabilities and growth priorities.
  • Build and maintain C-suite and SVP-level relationships within client commercialization organizations, creating dialogue before formal RFPs or opportunities arise.
  • Understand the commercialization journey, including New Product Planning, Go-to-Market Strategy, Evidence Strategy, Market Access Strategy, Brand Strategy, Medical Communications strategy, and Advertising/Promotion, and identify appropriate BGBx leaders to involve.
  • Identify and pursue cross-divisional and cross-practice opportunities that may be overlooked because client relationships are held in different parts of the organization.
  • Lead big-idea generation, breakthrough sessions, top-to-top meetings, and other strategic growth initiatives.
  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans, translating strategy into plans, agendas, briefs, and actionable next steps that deepen client penetration and create incremental revenue opportunities.
  • Partner with Consulting and Communications practice leaders and delivery teams to qualify and shape opportunities and develop proposals, pricing, and staffing.
  • Lead client pursuits and coordinate cross-functional BGBx teams through the cross-solving process while keeping practice leaders accountable for subject matter expertise and delivery.
  • Advocate internally for clients by sharing account intelligence, organizational dynamics, competitive context, decision-makers, and budget cycles with leadership.
  • Report rolling pipeline and account-level revenue forecasts to the Chief of Commercial Strategy and Innovation and participate in quarterly business reviews.
  • Embed BGBx’s “Built for Breakthrough” value proposition across named accounts, leveraging the breakthrough suite, intellectual property, and integrated capabilities to strengthen relationships, differentiation, brand equity, client awareness, advocacy, and NPS scores.
  • Travel as needed based on client and business requirements.
