Client Quant Developer, BQuant Desktop - Financial Solutions
About The Position
The Bloomberg Financial Solutions department is dedicated to ensuring the success of both clients and employees. This team focuses on sales, service, operations, culture, and brand, with a unified goal of building meaningful client relationships by understanding their needs and providing exceptional end-to-end support. The BQuant Desktop Team specifically collaborates with existing and prospective clients to address business needs using Bloomberg's Python-based quant platform, BQuant. This role involves using financial markets knowledge to consult with clients, helping them develop and implement investment strategies and research leveraging BQuant. With access to a comprehensive financial database, the role directly impacts Bloomberg revenue by working with Sales teams to create new tactical desktop applications for selling Bloomberg Terminals and improving workflow efficiencies for existing customers. The position encompasses the full development life cycle, from initial client demos and requirement gathering to prototyping, implementation, deployment, and adoption.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in financial services or a financial technology company
- Experience developing financial models using Python
- A strategic mindset and proven commercial acumen which allows you to weigh up the business opportunities of a project before execution
- Confidence to have highly articulate and consultative interactions with clients
- Strong presentation and communication skills in English
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
Nice To Haves
- Bloomberg BQNT experience is a plus
- Experience or qualifications in Data Science and Cloud Computing is a plus
- Experience in working with Bloomberg Enterprise Products
Responsibilities
- Drive adoption of the BQuant Desktop platform
- Partner with Sales teams to build tactical BQuant solutions to increase revenue opportunities for the company
- Provide assistance on new strategies or migration projects that clients wish to implement by using BQuant
- Work closely with Product Development and Software Engineering teams to help drive improvements to the BQuant Platform
