About The Position

The Client Development Manager is responsible for the strategic management, growth, and performance of assigned client accounts. The role serves as the primary connection between clients, MSP partners, hiring managers, recruiting, and internal stakeholders, driving requisition delivery, strengthening client relationships, resolving escalations, and identifying opportunities to expand GTT's presence within existing accounts. The Client Development Manager exercises independent judgment in navigating client relationships, candidate delivery, account strategy, and program-specific requirements while maintaining overall accountability for account performance.

Requirements

  • 2 years of progressive staffing, client services, account management, sales, or related professional services experience.
  • Demonstrated experience owning client account performance, retention, and growth.
  • Experience managing multiple client accounts and competing requisition/delivery priorities.
  • Working knowledge of the staffing lifecycle, including requisition intake, candidate submission, interviews, offers, placements, and ongoing consultant/account support.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret account metrics and translate performance data into business actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across client, MSP, recruiting, and internal teams without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, judgment, and problem-solving ability in resolving complex client and delivery issues.

  • Experience working within staffing, contingent workforce, MSP, and/or VMS environments strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own the performance, retention, and growth of assigned client accounts, with particular focus on MSP-managed programs.
  • Develop account strategies that expand GTT's access to requisitions, hiring managers, business units, and other opportunities within existing client relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to increase account penetration, placements, and gross profit while maintaining strong client and MSP partnerships.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of account history, hiring patterns, business cycles, stakeholder preferences, and program requirements to anticipate client needs and appropriately prioritize activity.
  • Proactively prospect within existing client accounts to identify and establish relationships with hiring managers, department leaders, business-unit stakeholders, and other decision-makers who may have current or future staffing needs.
  • Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies, including cold calling, email outreach, networking, referrals, and other prospecting activities, to expand GTT's relationships and access within existing accounts.
  • Research client organizations to identify departments, business units, hiring trends, organizational changes, and key stakeholders that represent opportunities for account expansion.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective hiring-manager relationships within existing accounts and consistently conduct outreach to generate new requisition opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with MSP partners, hiring managers, program leaders, and other client stakeholders.
  • Navigate complex MSP environments and program-specific engagement protocols, exercising sound judgment regarding when and how to engage client stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular client and MSP communications regarding hiring needs, delivery performance, priorities, and opportunities.
  • Represent GTT as the primary point of accountability for assigned accounts and proactively address concerns that may affect client satisfaction or account performance.
  • Oversee the end-to-end requisition and candidate delivery process for assigned accounts, ensuring recruiting efforts align with client priorities and program expectations.
  • Evaluate and prioritize requisitions based on urgency, client needs, probability of success, and account strategy.
  • Review candidate submissions and exercise independent judgment regarding candidate alignment with client requirements and known hiring-manager preferences.
  • Coordinate interview, offer, and other candidate-related activity between recruiting teams, clients, and MSP partners to support timely and effective delivery.
  • Partner closely with recruiting teams to communicate account priorities, clarify requirements, and establish appropriate recruiting focus.
  • Translate client and MSP expectations into actionable guidance for recruiting teams, including requirements that may not be fully captured within written requisitions.
  • Provide feedback regarding candidate quality, submission strategy, response rates, and other delivery considerations to continuously improve account performance.
  • Influence and align cross-functional partners toward account objectives without relying on direct reporting authority.
  • Monitor account performance using relevant business and delivery indicators, including requisition activity, submissions, response rates, interviews, fills, gross profit, and MSP scorecard measures.
  • Analyze performance trends and identify opportunities, risks, or delivery gaps requiring action.
  • Partner with recruiting and leadership to develop corrective strategies when account performance declines or client expectations are not being met.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned account results and proactively seek client and internal feedback to understand and address performance challenges.
  • Serve as a primary escalation point for client and MSP concerns involving assigned accounts.
  • Investigate service or delivery issues, coordinate appropriate internal resources, and drive issues through resolution.
  • Maintain ownership of client communication during escalations while ensuring appropriate internal stakeholders are engaged.
  • Escalate financial, contractual, employment, compliance, or other matters requiring specialized expertise or organizational approval.
  • Support offer and rate negotiations within established business parameters while balancing client needs, candidate considerations, and GTT's financial objectives.
  • Exercise independent judgment regarding candidate submissions, requisition prioritization, client engagement, and day-to-day account strategy.
  • Identify matters requiring leadership approval or cross-functional consultation and escalate appropriately.
  • Apply staffing industry knowledge and business acumen to make decisions that support client relationships and profitable account growth.
  • Provide guidance and informal leadership to account management, recruiting, and other team members supporting assigned accounts.
  • Serve as an escalation and coaching resource for less experienced team members navigating client or MSP-related matters.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Recruiting, HR, Compliance, Onboarding, Finance, and other internal functions to ensure client commitments can be effectively and compliantly delivered.
  • Promote accountability, communication, and shared ownership across teams supporting assigned accounts.
