About The Position

This posting is for an opening for the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund. The role performs and provides administrative support services to clients requesting services from the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund. This includes general clerical duties, answering phones, preparing correspondence, greeting and interacting closely with clients, maintaining files, working with community partners, and conducting special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records, documents, or discussions related to client information.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Excellent communication/customer service skills required.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet (Excel) required.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Interpersonal skills needed to communicate effectively with individuals and groups and interact with people of all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering, and feeling.
  • Overall vision is necessary, including reading and close-up work.
  • Hearing and speech on the phone as well as in person are necessary.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally in person, on the phone and in writing.
  • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to deal with a variety of people and maintain composure even in very stressful and depressive situations.
  • Regularly use standard office equipment, including a computer.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate’s degree in business or related field.
  • Knowledge of billing, accounting, medical terminology, medical procedures, and knowledge of insurance and be able to communicate that with cancer patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Answers inquiries concerning activities and operations of the Fund by referring to and interpreting policies/procedures.
  • Responsible for communicating with providers to acquire claims and EOB’s.
  • Accurately calculating payments to providers.
  • Ability to assess codes to ensure accurate financial assistance.
  • Ability to provide accurate and detailed data entry.
  • Working with community partners and other outside organizations to utilize resources for clients.
  • Responsible for preparing reports of client cases that are presented to the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund Board on a monthly basis for consideration of financial need.
  • All new cases and assessments for financial needs are prepared in an organized and accurate manner.
  • Board client case decisions will be timely addressed, and the necessary financial arrangements will be made.
  • Establishes, maintains, and revises record keeping and filing system.
  • Mail is sorted and distributed as appropriate.
  • Telephone calls are answered promptly and professionally.
  • Assistance is offered and given cooperatively to other Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund employees as needed.
  • Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for own professional behavior.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for reporting to work as scheduled.
  • Demonstrates self-directed learning.
  • Other duties as assigned.
