About The Position

Laird Norton Wetherby (LNW) is seeking a full-time Client Associate & Trust Services professional to join their team in Seattle, WA. LNW specializes in helping high-net-worth individuals and families manage and grow their wealth through comprehensive financial planning, investment management, and trust & estate services. The Client Associate & Trust Services role will support Wealth Managers and Analysts in developing client wealth management strategies by providing essential trust administration and wealth planning support. This role is crucial for the Trust Resource Group, handling administrative tasks, cash management, client communication, and internal support to ensure smooth operations and compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in private wealth management, trust services, and/or client services within the finance industry.
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience in the financial services industry.
  • Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally with clients and co-workers.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn basic accounting skills and trust accounting basics.
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe.
  • Must meet all employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful passing of background & credit checks and any pre-employment examinations, signing of all employee agreements, and can perform the essential functions, duties and responsibilities set forth in a consistent and efficient manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications are a plus.
  • Prior experience reviewing trust documents and/or working on trusts is a plus.
  • Experience with other software applications, such as financial software tools, is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide key administrative support to the Trust Resource Group.
  • Manage account administration, including reviewing, submitting, scanning, and maintaining documentation, opening and closing accounts, and collecting/coordinating tax reports/forms.
  • Perform cash management duties such as monitoring and administering daily transactions, evaluating disbursement requests according to trust documents, and preparing discretionary distributions and documentation.
  • Assist with client communication and deliverables, including preparing periodic reports, presentations, and responding to client-initiated requests.
  • Maintain accurate client records and information across various platforms (internal programs, CRM, etc.).
  • Provide internal support by backing up colleagues, ensuring compliance with all protocols, and maintaining positive team communication.
  • Assist with reviewing trust documents and working on trusts.
