Requirements

  • High school diploma; Associate's Degree a plus.
  • 3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices.
  • Experience preparing journal entries and financial reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using accounting and payroll software
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a team.
  • A strong communicator who can explain financial concepts clearly.
  • Focused on delivering outstanding client experiences and building professional relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries with limited supervision.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain depreciation and amortization schedules.
  • Prepare compiled financial statements and customized client reports.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities.
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and financial questions.
  • Process vendor invoices and payments.
  • Support 1099 reporting by gathering and maintaining vendor documentation.
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve payment and billing issues.
  • Create customer invoices and apply payments.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with customers as needed.
  • Resolve discrepancies while maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule.
  • Review payroll registers and payroll previews for accuracy.
  • Record payroll-related journal entries, including taxes and deductions.
  • Research payroll tax requirements and registration needs.
  • Respond to payroll-related correspondence from government agencies.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients.
  • Develop an understanding of client operations and industry needs.
  • Identify issues, recommend solutions, and communicate proactively.
  • Provide exceptional service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
