A day in the life of a Seafood Clerk: You will deal directly with customers and answer questions on everything from grilling to nutrition. Our highly skilled Seafood Clerks are trained here to prepare the outstanding quality cuts that Safeway has built its reputation on. Responsibilities

Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations
Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway’s programs
Cut and prepare meat products for display using knives and saws
Stocking various seafood products to shelves
Maintaining and building merchandise displays in compliance with Safeway programs
Use of commercial power equipment
Order writing
Receiving and rotating product
Filling product showcases
Cleaning and sanitizing of work area
Keep your meat department area clean, well-stocked and organized
Handle and present products in a way that highlights and safeguards their quality
Comply with company seafood standards and food safety regulations
Know the various seafood choices, benefits and ways to serve seafood in your store
Look for creative ways to merchandise your products to your customers
Support national, regional and store merchandising programs
Use of hand wrapper and scale
Pricing seafood for sale
Washing and cutting fish for seafood counter
Filling counter and showcases
Working with raw as well as cooked seafood
