About The Position

The Physician Services Clerk provides quality customer service to patients and performs those functions delegated and assigned by the Office Manager. This role is responsible for carrying out front office activities in a kind and courteous manner, being helpful to customers and their families, and notifying the office manager of customer complaints in a timely manner. The clerk will gather appropriate demographic information, update the practice management system, and notify customers of long waits while offering alternatives. They will ensure effective telephone communication, coordinate EMR/medical record activities, collect and post payments, and ensure the safety and security of all monies. Additionally, the role involves scheduling patients, coordinating appointment scheduler activities for efficient patient flow, performing insurance eligibility verification, obtaining prior authorization, researching patient ledgers to educate patients on balances and collect payments, and performing appointment confirmation calls. The clerk will also complete required in-services, participate in patient satisfaction improvement initiatives, and make referrals to other medical care team members when needed.

Responsibilities
