The Clerk Phlebotomist is responsible for drawing blood by capillary or venipuncture, labeling tubes properly, and delivering tubes to the Lab according to Laboratory Policy and Procedure. This role also involves maintaining the Order Monitor, organizing workload with phlebotomy staff and other applicable hospital personnel, and performing Front Office responsibilities. Additionally, the Clerk Phlebotomist processes extra tubes, including centrifuging and proper storage, loads specimens onto the Roche Modular Pre-Analytics (MPA) system, and answers telephones, responding to inquiries from hospital personnel, visitors, or others. Participation in training procedures as directed by the supervisor is also required.
