Position Summary: Reports to the deputy warden, operations. Performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties in with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, Management & Training Corporation (MTC), and Florida Department of Corrections (FDOC) directives.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year related experience required.
A valid driver’s license in the state of Florida with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Computer knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsible for clerical tasks, systems and procedures related to security operations and assisting all security personnel as directed.
Perform duties including filing, data entry, create spreadsheets, type correspondences, reports and letters as directed by supervisor.
Proofread material to verify accuracy.
File inmate records and maintain, update, and file all terminated inmate records in accordance with established guidelines.
Maintain department files and update as needed.
Make copies of documents and information from one record to place in another record as required.
Maintain appropriate office supplies for the department.
Operate office equipment, including computers.
Log and distribute incoming mail, prepare outgoing mail, answer telephone and convey messages.
Operate telephone communications and mail handling as assigned.
Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices.
