About The Position

Works under general supervision of the Child Support Supervisor and Manager of the Parent Location/Process Department to collect, prioritize, and enter all time-sensitive and statistical data into the TCSES (Tennessee Child Support Enforcement Services) system and Parent Locator database accurately. This role involves processing receipts, sorting and clocking IV-D/child support processes, and entering time-sensitive data related to the status of "service of process" on child support cases. It also includes collecting and entering Title IV-D case data/documentation into a statistical database and performing functions related to Title IV-D activity in the Parent Location Department. The position requires answering inquiries from various individuals and agencies regarding Title IV-D cases, overseeing title IV-D case data, and updating the OMS (Offender Management System).

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience in appropriate clerical, data processing or statistical work; AND High school diploma or possess GED; OR Two (2) years of appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing or statistical work experience; and one (1) year of college study (30 semester hours or 36 quarter).
  • Knowledge of the various documents issued by the Court and the IV-D Agency.
  • Ability to maintain an established system of records and files.
  • Ability to write and type documents for a variety of needs.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize time to meet grant performance requirements.
  • Ability to handle the public with courtesy and tact.
  • Ability to compose general correspondence.
  • Ability to work with court officials and state staff.
  • Knowledge of computer software programs.
  • Ability to proficiently use a computer.
  • PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of the screen flow and program logic of the TSCES system preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Processes receipts/sorts/clocks all IV-D/child support process received for service.
  • Collects and enters all time sensitive data into TCSES relating to status of “service of process” on child support cases as required in Grant Contract.
  • Collects and enters all Title IV-D case data/documentation into statistical database related to “service of Process” from issuance to outcome.
  • Performs any functions assigned in the Parent Location Department related to Title IV-D activity.
  • Answers all inquiries from individuals or agencies such as the Shelby County Jail; bonding companies; attorneys and Court staff in person or by telephone through the Parent Location Department regarding Title IV-D cases.
  • Oversees title IV-D case data and updates into OMS (Offender Management System).
  • Performs other related duties as required or directed.
