Reporting to the Manager Health Records, the Clerk Interpreter will provide professional and responsive confidential translation and facilitation support services between patients/clients and the health services team. This position impacts the public and the community at large as it is the key entry point for health services, patient complaints, referral and information services. As a result, the position requires a good knowledge of Inuktitut and/or Inuinnaqtun as well as English, both written and spoken. In addition, the role also provides one of the main Inuktitut/Inuinnaqtun speaking resources for the regional office. The Clerk Interpreter is also responsible for performing primary clerical support functions and may direct others in the delivery of such services with the administrative/clerical components of the office.
