Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work; or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE)
  • Six (6) months of clerical work experience
  • Employees may be required to utilize their personal mobile phones for two-factor authentication (2FA)
  • Must have a valid Texas driver's license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Strong data entry and scheduling skills
  • Able to multitask

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
  • Work in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic setting
  • Be part of a clinic support team that ensures individuals seeking mental health services are welcomed to the clinic and assisted through the process of receiving ongoing treatment
  • Perform duties in the reception areas of the TPC mental health clinics
  • Answering incoming calls and properly routing them
  • Scheduling and rescheduling established patients
  • Confirming and updating demographic information
  • Answering basic patient questions and assisting with scanning, faxing and filing as needed
  • Verifying documentation is up-to-date for services to be reported in compliance with contracts and payer sources
  • Scheduling provider appointments for services to be performed in the community and clinic
  • Completing financial assessments for people seeking services and ongoing at required intervals
  • Additional data entry duties as needed
  • Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, patients and other staff
  • Adjust daily job duties based on the needs of the clinic and requirements within TPC grants and contracts
  • Adhere to TPC Business Code of Conduct and report concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised
