About The Position

Under general supervision, the Clerk I will perform duties required to facilitate the processing of incoming/outgoing mail and packages in addition to ensuring that office supplies are fully stocked. This position oversees all aspects of electronic filing, archiving, and retrieval of documents pertaining to the Company’s client operations as required and will perform a variety of clerical duties such as scanning, making copies, and filing in the paperless data entry system, etc. This position will work with management, staff, and clients to ensure that all documentation is appropriately managed and retrieved as necessary and is stored in accordance with relevant standards and regulations. Performs miscellaneous related duties, as required. This position requires access to confidential protected health information (PHI). Our employees are expected to protect the privacy of all PHI in accordance with Health Advocates’ privacy policies and procedures and as required by state and federal law including but not limited to the HIPAA Security and Privacy Rule.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • One year of office/mailroom experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong research and data entry skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail while working under tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently according to established procedures, in addition to being a team player
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
  • Type 30 wpm
  • Be able to lift up to 35 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in document management a plus
  • 10 key touch preferred
