The state supported living centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or who have behavioral problems. The centers provide campus-based direct services and supports at 13 centers located throughout the state. Clerk I-Clothing Clerk: Under the supervision of the Home Supervisor, the Clothing Clerk is responsible for sorting, stocking, purchasing, labeling, sewing and delivering clothing items. The Clothing Clerk solicits individuals' preferences related to clothing; identifies clothing sizes; assists individuals with clothing purchases in the community; assists with laundry (washing, drying, folding and ironing) as needed; assists with maintaining neat and clean closets; ensures clean, well maintained clothing is available; assists with decorating the home; and assists the Home Supervisor with other duties, as time allows. The Clothing Clerk must have the skills to: Do basic sewing and mending. Use a sewing machine and needle and thread. Read, write and do arithmetic. Organize and schedule self in order to fulfill the many aspects of this position. Work harmoniously and productively with co-workers, as well as with people with developmental disabilities.
