About The Position

The job of "Clerk" is done for the purpose of providing requested clerical support at school site; communicating various information regarding activities and/or in response to requests; and providing for timely and accurate distribution of materials.

Requirements

  • Prior job related experience with satisfactory job performance or evaluation.
  • Skills to operate standard office equipment including use of computer applications and telecommunication equipment, use English in both written and verbal form, use correct spelling, grammar and punctuation, and performs basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment, basic First Aid, recordkeeping and District/school rules and regulations.
  • Abilities to sit for prolonged periods, work independently, understand and carry out oral and written instruction.
  • Significant physical abilities include reaching/handling/fingering, talking/hearing conversations, near visual acuity/visual accommodation.
  • Diploma or equivalent.
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance, and Valid California Driver’s License.
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certificates.

Responsibilities

  • Answers telecommunication system for the purpose of screening calls, transferring calls, responding to inquiries and/or taking messages.
  • Composes documents, (e.g. correspondence, agendas, minutes, bulletins, reports, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to school and district personnel, the public, state officials, etc.
  • Evaluates situations (i.e. involving other staff, students, parents, the public, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Maintains inventory of office supplies for the purpose of ensuring availability of required items.
  • Maintains various records, meetings, schedules, files, rosters, etc. for the purpose of documenting and/or providing reliable information, and coordination available space.
  • Monitors financial related information, (e.g. class size, attendance, time sheets, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities for reimbursement and/or adhering to policies.
  • Processes documents and materials (e.g. schedules, agendas, mail, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.
  • Responds to inquiries of staff, the public, parents and/or students for the purpose of providing information and/or direction as may be required.
  • Supervises students for the purpose of monitoring students referred for disciplinary actions.
  • Administers first aid and medication to students for the purpose of meeting their immediate heath care needs.
  • Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
  • Handles funds for the purpose of processing student fees, sale of products, etc.
