Humber River Health is seeking a Clerical Support Associate to work with their Mother Baby Unit. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year full time equivalent recent clerical experience required, preferably in an inpatient health care setting.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Good keyboarding skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 WPM required.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a Community College medical secretarial diploma an asset.
  • Completion of a medical terminology course preferred.
  • MEDITECH computer experience an asset.
  • Knowledge of a second language an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for clerical support including patient registration and discharge, maintenance of patient records, order entry, statistics, and assisting with patient billing.
  • Responsible for customer service including scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, telephone inquiries, greeting patients and visitors in a courteous manner.
  • Communicates with bed allocation and other departments to arrange patient placement.
  • Communicates with other departments and service areas as required.
