About The Position

The Clerical Medical Office Assistant position supports the Radiology and Respiratory departments and is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to ensure efficient daily operations and exceptional patient service. This position serves as the primary point of contact for patients, providers, and staff by coordinating appointments, greeting patients, answering telephone calls, verifying patient information, and maintaining accurate medical records. The Clerical Medical Office Assistant works collaboratively with clinical staff to support patient flow, scheduling, and communication while delivering professional, courteous, and patient-centered service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Attention to detail with strong data entry and computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous medical office, clerical, or healthcare experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Schedule appointments, diagnostic testing, and follow-up visits for the Radiology and Respiratory departments.
  • Answer telephone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately.
  • Register patients and verify demographic, insurance, and referral information.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and enter information into the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and clinical staff.
  • Prepare and process departmental documentation, reports, and correspondence.
  • Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and other administrative functions as assigned.
  • Maintain office supplies and support the efficient operation of the departments.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, HIPAA regulations, and confidentiality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
