Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years recent experience in a busy clinical environment required.
  • Completion of a Community College Medical Secretary Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with Meditech 6.0
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team setting.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Comfortable with managing conflict among team members.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service on the telephone and in person
  • Computer proficiency and knowledge of MS Office, Excel and Word required.
  • Required positive attendance record
  • Demonstrated ability to deal courteously and tactfully with patients, physicians and the public, including effectively responding to concerns that arise.
  • Applicants may be required to successfully complete full administrative testing, to include typing speed and MS Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a Nephrology or Kidney Care Clinic preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and oversees the daily operation of the clerical area
  • Oversees all referrals to the kidney care clinic in collaboration with clinical/clerical staff
  • Oversees and manages physicians KCC calendars and organizes opening and closing of clinics accordingly
  • Prepares and Posts staff schedules in collaboration with manager; in adherence with collective Agreement(s) including creating and maintaining KCC clerical assignment sheets
  • Ensures complete orientation/training of new clerical staff and/or new processes.
  • Oversees the daily operation of the clerical areas and assigns job functions to clerical staff
  • Facilitates/problem solves balancing of workload, brings unresolved issues to the attention of the manager
  • Assists manager with Payroll entry
  • Assists when needed in daily operation and is responsible for coverage during staff absences as required
  • Collects statistics and data as well as metrics required for program reporting
  • Maintains clerical and document supplies, complete supply orders for the department as needed
  • Performs duties as delegated by manager/director
