About The Position

IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION CANDIDATE MUST BE SERVING PERMANENTLY IN THE TITLE OF CLERICAL ASSOCIATE, OR MUST HAVE FILED FOR THE CLERICAL ASSOCIATE BRIDGE EXAM # 3120, AND TAKE THE UPCOMING SCHEDULED EXAM. Under direction of the Office Manager in the borough office, the selected candidates will be responsible for performing the following duties: entering and retrieving data from automated information systems; performing responsible clerical work in the administrative and operational areas by processing, recording, checking and maintaining various records, and furnishing information as needed; preparing reports requiring the selection of data from records or statistics; assisting with supplies and equipment inventory and the yearly filing of the appropriate records; performing general office duties, including the answering of the phones, filing and performing related work as assigned.

Requirements

  • candidate MUST be serving permanently in the title of CLERICAL ASSOCIATE, OR MUST HAVE FILED FOR THE CLERICAL ASSOCIATE BRIDGE EXAM # 3120, AND TAKE THE UPCOMING SCHEDULED EXAM
  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
  • Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
