About The Position

The Cleaning Specialist is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of production areas, break rooms, restrooms, and other requested areas during and after production. This role requires adherence to cGMP standards, safe work practices, and the ability to operate cleaning equipment and handle cleaning chemicals safely. The specialist will also be responsible for identifying and reporting conditions or actions that may compromise product safety and ensuring the work area is fully prepared for the next shift.

Requirements

  • Is attentive to and follows safe work practices.
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience sufficient to: Proficiently read, speak, and write English to meet FDA requirements for record keeping purposes.
  • Knowledge of basic custodial service techniques and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of chemical hazards related to harsh cleaning agents.
  • Working knowledge of custodial equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs independently (e.g. trash bags, cleaning supplies, equipment).
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and various odors.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and follow all aspects of the cGMP associated with plant operations.
  • Clean production areas and equipment, break rooms, restrooms and as requested any other area during and after production.
  • Keep all trash, garbage and scrap receptacles empty and clean.
  • Keep the floors swept, and free of excessive build up, spills, and debris.
  • Mop the floors using traditional mops and floor machines.
  • Dust, vacuum, polish, sanitize, etc. the areas being cleaned.
  • Cleans all glass in doors, windows, dividers, etc.
  • Restock supplies.
  • Move furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipment.
  • Identify, correct, and/or immediately report conditions, e.g., open doors, torn screens, drums of product not covered, etc., which may compromise product safety.
  • Identify any employee actions that may compromise product safety and report them immediately to the Supervisor.
  • Wear appropriate clothing, coverings, safety equipment and personal protective equipment. Remain alert and aware of work operations to avoid accidents and incidents.
  • Follow established hygienic practices, including the wearing of appropriate attire, attend to personal hygiene, hand washing and sanitization prior to work and at any time during working hours.
  • Set up for special events, moves tables, chairs, and equipment.
  • Occasionally perform emergency cleaning duties as needed.
  • Attend required training sessions.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Fully ready area for next shift, ensuring the cleanliness of the sanitation tools and equipment are complete. Guarantee not product or materials are left on equipment, tables, floor etc. at end of shift or overnight. This includes removing all trash and cardboard to appropriate discard area and relocating all sanitation supplies to their proper storage places.
