About The Position

The Cleaner performs cleaning and general upkeep of an assigned area at North Florida College in Madison, Florida. Duties may include emptying trash and replacing liners; dusting, wiping, and spot-cleaning furniture, fixtures, and equipment; cleaning and sanitizing bathroom fixtures and floors and restocking paper and soap supplies; sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors; and cleaning cafeterias or eating areas. Other duties may be assigned according to the scope of the contract. Cleaners are expected to follow safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment, report irregularities or equipment and building damage, follow contract security protocols, wear company-issued shirts, and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor.

Requirements

Previous experience in a janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning role.
Demonstrated good customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with the public.
Positive attitude and strong, reliable work ethic.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Punctuality and dependability.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds for the duration of the shift.
Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Empty trash and replace can liners.
Dust, wipe, and spot-clean furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Clean and sanitize bathroom fixtures and floors, and restock paper and soap supplies.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
Clean cafeterias or eating areas.
Perform other duties as mandated by the scope of the contract.
Follow safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Communicate irregularities and equipment or building damage.
Follow security protocols dictated by the contract.
Wear company-issued shirts and maintain a professional, courteous demeanor.
