About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. This is a seasonal evening position scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays only.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including their attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas, spot-clean rugs daily, and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash entrance door glass and trim, both inside and outside, and wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms daily and restock paper supplies; damp-wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves and stall partitions, and sweep, mop, or scrub floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to designated collection areas.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic work such as high dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, and washing walls.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
