About The Position

Bender Companies is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our team at one of our apartment communities in Richton Park. In this role, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, is highly attentive to detail, and understands the importance of cleanliness in both shared and private living spaces. Experience in custodial or janitorial roles, especially in residential or commercial settings, is preferred. A strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team are key to success.

Requirements

  • Reliable transportation to get to work
  • Familiarity with the proper use and care of cleaning equipment and chemicals
  • Understanding of safe handling and disposal of cleaning agents and hazardous materials
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for keeping spaces clean and safe
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to high-quality work
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a cleaner, janitor, or custodian in residential, commercial, or hospitality settings

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize hallways, lobbies, stairwells, laundry rooms, and other common areas
  • Assist with cleaning and preparing vacant units for move-ins, including floors, appliances, and fixtures
  • Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns to the maintenance or management team
  • Help maintain property grounds, including picking up debris, sweeping walkways, and emptying trash bins
  • Safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment according to company policies and safety guidelines
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report when restocking is necessary
  • Support other staff with occasional light maintenance or turnover tasks as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
