About The Position

We are searching for a motivated Cleaner to join our team! As a member of our staff, you will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of all areas of the facility and maintain a positive member experience. You will also provide a superior level of customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members and guests, ensuring an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience!

Requirements

  • Overnight Cleaners must submit to a background check consisting of a National Criminal Scan, National Sex Offender Registry, National Security/Terrorist Watch List and County Criminal Search. Continued employment will be based on satisfactory outcome of the background check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within time frames required by company and maintain physical ability to perform CPR/AED in the event of a medical emergency.
  • Must obtain Tanning Certification within time frame required by company.
  • This position requires employee to work on-site.
  • Applicants for an overnight position must submit to a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire. Continued employment will be based on satisfactory outcome of the background check.
  • Must be 18 year of age or older.

  • Willingness to learn and apply company cleaning practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Obtain Tanning Certification within company required timeframes.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous janitorial, cleaning, or custodial experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily cleaning of all assigned areas floor in accordance with Planet Fitness standards and guidelines.
  • Thoroughly clean, disinfect and sanitize all common areas, ie restroom, locker rooms, Black Card Spa, showers, bathroom toilet and stalls, sinks and floors.
  • Wipe down and disinfect fitness equipment, weights, and cardio machines.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust throughout the facility.
  • Empty and dispose of trash and recycling. Maintain trash cans and cleaning stations.
  • Refill cleaning supplies, paper products, and soap dispensers as needed and notify management when inventory is low.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment, (clean the mop, bucket, empty vacuum bags, etc.).
  • Other cleaning duties as needed or assigned by management.
  • Clean and post signage for unsafe conditions, such as wet/slippery floors in locker rooms, bathrooms, shower areas and tanning rooms.
  • Report broken or missing amenities or equipment (toilets, faucets, showers, hair dryers, gym equipment etc.) to management promptly.
  • Follow “Lost and Found Policy” and notify lost member property to the Club Manager or Assistant Club Manager immediately.
  • Follow all Planet Fitness cleaning and sanitization protocols.
  • Greet members in a friendly, professional manner when in common areas.
  • Help maintain a welcoming and positive club environment.
  • Ensure that cleaning duties and performed discreetly and efficiently during open hours.
  • Some cross training may be provided to assist in front desk duties should the club need additional coverage.
