About The Position

This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of public and employee areas, including restrooms, showers, and floors. The Cleaner will also be responsible for dusting surfaces, emptying trash, inspecting furniture for damage, cleaning lights, and posting caution signs when necessary. This position requires direct communication with other departments for urgent repairs and prompt responses to guest and internal requests. A key aspect of the role is identifying and reporting maintenance issues. The Cleaner must adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and complete required training. They are expected to maintain a professional appearance and confidentiality. Guest interaction is also a part of the role, requiring adherence to company service standards, assisting guests with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation. The role involves physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and performing tasks in various positions and spaces for extended periods. The Cleaner must also be able to visually inspect tools and equipment and manipulate objects with dexterity. Performing other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors is also expected.

Requirements

• Ability to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to push and pull work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces.
• Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Ability to visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects).
• Ability to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
• Ability to move up and down a ladder.
• Ability to stand, sit, kneel, or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift.

Responsibilities

• Clean public and employee restrooms and showers.
• Clean glass in public and employee areas.
• Clean floor surfaces in public or employee space using designated chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
• Dust surfaces in assigned area.
• Empty trash containers, ashtrays, and ash urns in public areas into proper containers.
• Inspect condition of furniture for tears, rips, and stains and report damages.
• Clean and maintain lights.
• Post caution signs to limit traffic when necessary.
• Contact other departments directly for urgent repairs.
• Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
• Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms.
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
• Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
• Complete safety training and certifications.
• Properly store flammable materials.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
