Mother Teresa School is a Catholic ELC–Year 6 school located in Canberra’s Gungahlin region, proudly serving the diverse local community. The Classroom Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering and assessing curriculum-aligned teaching and learning programs, monitoring and reporting on student progress, and maintaining a safe and productive learning environment. The role works collaboratively with colleagues, families and school leaders to support student learning and wellbeing, contributes to professional learning and team initiatives, and fulfils administrative, reporting and compliance requirements. Multiple part-time opportunities are available across a range of year levels and teaching areas for Terms 3 and 4, 2026. Some appointments are temporary to replace an employee who is on leave or secondment. Some appointments are temporary to replace an employee who is on parental leave. The incumbent is entitled to return earlier to their substantive position in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Education or Master of Teacher
  • ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance
  • ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration
  • Accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy
  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Current resume and a cover letter that addresses the selection criteria
