About The Position

The Classroom Teacher is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. The teacher is responsible for growth in student learning. This position is for a 2nd grade Math/Science/Social Studies Teacher and is considered a CRITICAL SHORTAGE role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate
  • Any additional certifications/qualifications specified by the Louisiana Standards for State Certification of School Personnel Bulletin 746

Responsibilities

  • Establish learning objectives, immediate and long range, with written minimum, daily, weekly or unit lesson plans which shall be available in the classroom.
  • Teach effectively using class time for teaching designated subject matter, employing a variety of techniques and curriculum materials to stimulate learning.
