Classroom Support Advocate (FT) (Head Start)
About The Position
Under the direction of the Developmental Services Coordinator, will assist in implementing child behavior interventions and instructional support in a variety of classrooms and settings. In collaboration with the Lead Teachers, will assist with implementation of effective classroom management strategies and ensure that room arrangements meet the needs of each child in accordance with the prescribed curriculum. Will help ensure children and adults practice healthy habits and routines in the classroom. Will complete required documentation and record keeping timely and accurately. Travel within the 16-county service area is required.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED
- A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential -or- an associate degree in early childhood education
- Travel within the 16-county service area is required.
- Additional training and, if the current DCA is not Preschool, a Preschool CDA must be obtained within one year of employment.
