Classroom Substitute (After School)
About The Position
As a BrightBee classroom substitute, you will support the full group instruction of students at our partner sites in the Detroit area. We are partnered with Wayne Metro After School Program to find substitute teachers across all grade levels and content areas. This role is perfect for an individual with a genuine enthusiasm for working with children and youth, alignment to our mission of supporting workers, students, and schools while promoting academic success, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to quickly adapt to varying classroom environments, student needs, and instructional approaches. Dependability and punctuality are vital for fulfilling on-demand job opportunities efficiently.
Requirements
- Minimum of 60 college credits in order to apply for Michigan sub permit.
- Some prior experience working with K-12 students in educational settings, required.
- Availability for after school day (2pm-6pm).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt to varying classroom environments, student needs, and instructional approaches.
- Dependability and punctuality.
- Pass a background check, livescan and may need to obtain other necessary testing/clearances.
- Authorization to contact former employers.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
