Part Time Classroom Facilitator - East Site
About The Position
ourBRIDGE for KIDS is hiring a part-time Classroom Facilitator for its afterschool program serving elementary-age students from refugee, immigrant, and first-generation American families. The role supports a joyful, inclusive, multicultural classroom and helps foster students’ education, acculturation, and wellbeing. Extensive training is provided. The position is 23 hours per week, plus paid training hours, and follows the CMS school calendar. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; occasional weekend or evening events may be required. Compensation is $17–$20 per hour, based on experience. The role reports to the Program Manager and takes place in a fast-paced, hands-on, multicultural environment.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with children, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment with energy and flexibility.
- Initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for culture and diversity and a desire to help students and families feel at home, proud, and confident.
- Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
- Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
- Willingness to learn and participate in extensive training.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate daily with the supervisor, co-facilitators, and volunteers to plan and deliver educational programming.
- Lead activities that foster English language growth, emotional wellbeing, and cross-cultural understanding.
- Create a positive, trauma-informed classroom culture rooted in the organization’s LERD values: Love, Education, Respect, and Diversity.
- Adapt lessons for students with varying English proficiency and share ideas to make the curriculum relevant and engaging.
- Monitor and support students’ academic progress.
- Lead Community Circles focused on safety, relationship-building, and social-emotional learning.
- Communicate with lead staff about logistics and classroom needs.
- Manage classroom routines, including attendance, meal distribution, cleanliness, and club activities.
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere that encourages creativity and laughter.
- Support co-workers as needed and assist with special events, including some weekend or evening events.
