About The Position

Reports to the IT Helpdesk under support of theElectronic Tech Supervisor. Monitors IT Helpdesk resource tools for A/V related support tickets and works with Helpdesk Staff for resolution needs. Works with other College technical staff to provide a uniform and seamless computing environment for the ULM community. Supports campus-wide AV technologies including oversight for the College of Pharmacy IT needs for the Bienville Campus & Pharmacy's remote clinical site in Shreveport. Closely engaged with IT systems and network support staff. Act as an informative diagnostic and support liaison for VCOM Medical School as needed. Assists in daily management and user support for MS Teams. Closely assists theManager of Instructional Technology in methods of reviewing Academic Technology needs for classrooms, e-learning, and other mobile resources that are efficient to the success of technologies needed by Faculty and Students. Those instructional resources will include - MS Teams, Kaltura, Camtasia, Respondus, etc. Assist in software installation, maintenance, and user instruction. Includes reviewing new technologies that may enhance or benefit the instructional technology options and delivery. Works with Virtualization Lab(s) to determine resources to meet ULM's technology innovation opportunities that can be used in the Academic curriculums. Recommends procedures to enhance use of academic computing resources and documents systems procedures within associated various Colleges. Monitors and evaluates end user systems for performance using technical skills attained through training and experience. Platforms for support include MS Windows, Apple OS, mobile devices. Maintains awareness of emerging software offerings. Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must have technology related Bachelor's degree and/or 5+ years of real-world field experience in A/V technical based background.
  • Experienced in A/V platforms such as Crestron, Extron, video switching, Wireless screen casting, video projection, etc.
  • Must have basic networking knowledge to troubleshoot and explain issues.
  • Experience in Microsoft products - Windows, MS Office; desktop imaging software; Apple OS platform knowledge recommended.
