About The Position
Buffalo Hearing & Speech has openings for classroom aides in preschool special education classrooms at our North Street location in Buffalo. Our classroom aides work during the school year and also work a 6 week summer program in July & August. Enjoy paid school breaks, snow days, and the opportunity to positively impact a child's life! The Classroom Aide is responsible for assisting with the management of the children and classroom environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma/ GED
- Experience working with children, or in a classroom setting and/or working with children/adults with developmental delays/disabilities
- Ability to obtain and maintain CPI Certification
- Drive and Energy
- Sensitivity
- Good Judgement
- Computer Skills
- Ability to work well with children and understand their needs
- Ability to work well with others, including staff and families
- Physical actions may include, but are not limited to; lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching, sprinting, crawling, and running.
- Vision, speech, tactical and hearing senses adequate to perform job requirements.
- Frequent sitting/ standing and when appropriate, floor sitting with pediatric patients.
