About The Position

As a Classroom Aide, you'll be an important part of a Head Start classroom, helping create a warm, safe and engaging environment where young children can play, explore, learn and grow. You'll work alongside experienced early childhood professionals while building your own skills and experience. Every day brings opportunities to encourage a child, celebrate a milestone, lend a helping hand and be part of something that truly matters.

Requirements

• Genuinely enjoy working with young children.
• Are patient, dependable, positive and willing to learn.
• Can work cooperatively as part of a team.
• Have an interest in early childhood development and learning.
• Want work that is both personally meaningful and professionally rewarding.
• Have a valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation.
• Meet the basic requirements of Ohio's child care regulatory agency.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, caring relationships with young children and families.
• Engage children in play, learning activities and everyday classroom experiences.
• Help create a safe, welcoming classroom where children feel comfortable exploring and trying new things.
• Support teachers with classroom activities, routines and transitions.
• Help maintain an attractive, organized and engaging learning environment.
• Encourage children's social, emotional, creative and developmental growth.
• Work as part of a supportive classroom team.
• Follow all applicable childcare regulations and Head Start requirements.
