About The Position
Lifesteps' Child Care Program is expanding with a new preschool location opening at Butler County Community College. Lifesteps is a non-profit, human services organization with over 100 years of service in Western Pennsylvania, dedicated to helping individuals and families with life's changing needs. The agency offers programs and services for children of all abilities. This part-time Assistant Group Supervisor (Child Care Assistant or Teacher Aide) position is located at the new preschool center at BC3 in Butler, PA, and will work Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 12 noon daily. The role involves making a difference in the lives of children by providing exceptional childcare and preschool services.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Two years of experience working with children (paid or unpaid, e.g., Summer Camps, Church Nursery, Babysitting, Bible School, Volunteering with children)
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Ability to provide acceptable state clearances
- Able to multi-task and work in a team environment
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services field
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services field, or a CDA
Responsibilities
- Care and supervision of children, ages 3 to 5 years old
- Assisting with lesson planning and creating fun activities
- Supervising indoor and outdoor play time
- Informing parents about the child's day
