About The Position

DNCR Human Resources is seeking a well-rounded Classification and Compensation Analyst to join our team! The Classification and Compensation Analyst is responsible for managing classification, salary administration and organizational development activities that support the department’s workforce needs across a wide variety of diverse and varied professions, including natural, historical, research, environmental, educational, administrative, and professional positions. This position provides professional consultation in job analysis/evaluation for positions, conducting organizational design consultations and position review/analysis associated with the establishment and modification of new and existing positions, including salary administration consistent with federal and state laws, and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and 4 years of experience required; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 6 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience with the State of North Carolina or similar public employment classification and/or compensation system(s).
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated experience administering the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
  • Demonstrated experience preparing written reports that include relevant data/information and/or analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience with compensation administration for a diverse group of employees.

Responsibilities

  • Performing classification studies and actions to include classification structuring, role determination and evaluation, comparative analysis, and documentation of classification and compensation decisions.
  • Administering the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
  • Communicating information regarding existing policy and policy/procedural updates to managers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Compilation of HR Data Analytics and Metrics.
  • Compiling and analyzing various data regarding employee qualifications, labor market, equity analysis, position vacancies, turnover, and position pay settings.
