About The Position

The Classification Analyst (CA) will be the senior most classification authority on a site below the Classification Officer (CO). They will support the CO by developing, implementing, and managing the Centrus Energy Classification and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Program at Piketon, Oak Ridge, Bethesda and various strategic supplier facilities. The CA also is responsible for supporting field elements by consulting with trained Derivative Classifiers (DC)s to make proper classification determinations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security, Engineering, or Physical Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years’ derivative classification experience
  • Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Ability to prepare concise technical documents concerning application of classification requirements to specific cases
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a “Q” clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience and knowledge of centrifuge nuclear enrichment equipment and support systems
  • 5+ years’ experience conducting training on complex tasks
  • An active or previously held Q-level security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary site resource for classification guidance, providing expert support to personnel on classified and controlled information requirements.
  • Support the administration and continuous improvement of the Classification Program, ensuring compliance with applicable DOE, NRC, and company policies and procedures.
  • Perform classification functions, including derivative classification, derivative declassification, and Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information (UCNI) reviews in accordance with established guidance.
  • Research and interpret complex classification requirements, communicate updates to stakeholders, and provide recommendations on the application of classification guidance.
  • Review and approve technical documents for public release to ensure protection of classified, controlled, and sensitive information.
  • Develop and deliver classification and UCNI training while serving as a subject matter expert on Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), document marking, and information protection requirements.
  • Conduct security and classification compliance assessments of restricted and closed areas, document findings, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Support the development and review of classification guidance, security documentation, risk assessments, and other program documentation while collaborating with internal stakeholders and government representatives.
  • Participate in classification and security working groups, including Insider Threat Program activities, and serve as a backup resource for the Classification Officer when required.
