About The Position

This role involves driving to locations to deliver and/or pick up product, moving freight between terminal locations, and completing all required paperwork while representing Erb Transport professionally and providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Valid AZ/Class 1 license required.
  • Minimum 1 year verifiable driving experience on AZ/Class 1 license required.
  • Meet the licensing requirements for the specific job opening.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and health survey.
  • CVOR, Driver abstract and a copy of a driver's license must be provided at time of interview.
  • Employment reference check will be completed.
  • Criminal record check will be required.
  • Required to wear PPE (provided by The Erb Group).

Nice To Haves

  • Drivers are not assigned to dedicated units, and slip seating is required.

Responsibilities

  • Drive safely in all types of road and weather conditions and temperatures.
  • Deliver freight as per schedule and company policy.
  • Communicate with dispatch according to department procedures regarding pickups, deliveries or inquiries.
  • Perform required pre/post-trip inspections ensuring equipment is in safe working order.
  • Communicate with the shop when maintenance is required.
  • Familiarize with and carry out all required paperwork according to company policy.
  • Familiarize with and comply with all hours of service and Ministry of Transportation regulations for all jurisdictions.
  • Load and unload product in a safe, accurate and professional manner.
  • Operate the onboard telematic device, which includes the electronic log and communication system for communication with dispatch.
  • Familiarize with operations of The Erb Group and comply with company regulations.
  • Attend Driver Safety meetings.
  • Perform other duties as required.
