About The Position

The Class Coach introduces children ages 18 months to 13 years to soccer and helps them develop soccer and social skills in a fun, energetic environment. The coach inspires confidence, teamwork, and a love for soccer while making each session playful and exciting. Coaches use TOCA’s curriculum to run engaging soccer sessions and activities, adapt classes to participants’ ages and abilities, and encourage skill development. They also communicate progress to parents, prepare safe fields and equipment, follow safety guidelines, and assist with class administration and other program needs.

Requirements

Soccer experience, either playing or coaching.
Passion for soccer.
Enjoy working with children and helping them grow.
Availability to work afternoons and weekends.
Ability to kneel, bend, reach, climb, and stand for long durations.
Ability to move and lift equipment and supplies weighing 30 or more pounds.
Ability to stay active and lift equipment when needed.

Nice To Haves

CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

Run fun and engaging soccer sessions using TOCA’s curriculum, including drills and activities for young children.
Organize playful games that help children apply new skills and learn teamwork and sportsmanship.
Tailor each class to participants’ ages and abilities while supporting improvement and enjoyment.
Create a positive atmosphere that motivates children and keeps them excited about soccer.
Share progress updates with parents.
Ensure the field and equipment are safe and ready, and follow safety guidelines to protect participants.
Manage class rosters, attendance, and player evaluations.
Support other program needs, such as preparing for the next class and organizing paperwork.
