About The Position

New West Distributing is seeking a Class C Delivery Driver for Reno-Sparks. The role performs delivery and merchandising activities in accordance with company standards, drawing on prior delivery experience and business acumen. The driver works with salesmen, merchandisers, management, and customers to maintain account relationships, manage inventory, deliver orders on time, and keep product and displays in good condition. The position also requires safe driving and compliance with DOT traffic laws. The work involves substantial physical activity, including handling product throughout a 10–12-hour shift and exposure to weather.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Possess an acceptable driving record.
Possess a CDL Class A or Class C driver license.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
Be a team player focused on providing exceptional customer service.
Willingness to work in a team environment.
Ability to problem solve.
Ability to perform repetitive movements, including squatting, twisting, kneeling, bending, and stooping.
Ability to get in and out of a truck 15–30 times per day.
Ability to handle product cases 500–1,000 times per day.
Ability to lift and move a half-barrel keg weighing approximately 165 pounds.
Ability to pick up and move product during a 10–12-hour shift.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Knowledge of how to use a hand truck.
Ability to push or pull up to 330 pounds.
Ability to work with exposure to weather.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain relationships with merchandisers, salesmen, and the management team.
Control and verify inventory using handheld knowledge and by confirming account inventory counts.
Collect payments by cash, check, and charge.
Maintain backroom cleanliness, rotate backroom product, and remove beer that is out of code or damaged.
Communicate daily with the salesmen for each account.
Work efficiently with others to deliver and merchandise accounts.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Ensure orders are delivered on time.
Check displays to ensure product rotates properly and displays maintain the specified quantity and appearance.
Build and rotate displays.
Follow DOT traffic laws and drive safely.
Perform daily pre-trip inspections and use all required safety equipment.
