About The Position

Interstate Waste Services is seeking experienced CDL B Side Load Truck Drivers. Safety is our top priority. This position offers hourly pay of $31.27 and a work week from Monday to Saturday, with a schedule of 3 am to 1:30 pm. A minimum of 1 year of CDL driving experience is required. Requirements

  • 21 Years of Age & Legally Eligible to Work in the United States
  • Valid Class A or B CDL
  • Airbrake Endorsement
  • 1-year CDL driving experience in the last 7 years.
  • Great Safety Record and Clean MVR
  • Working Knowledge of DOT, OSHA & Applicable Traffic Regulations
  • Ability to Speak & Read English to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic & signals, respond to official questions & make legible entries on reports & records
  • Ability to Read & Understand a Map
  • Meet Physical & Safety Requirements of the Position.
  • Willing & Able to Work Required Worked Hours as Allowed Under DOT Regulation & May Include Weekend, Night &/Or Holiday Work

Nice To Haves

  • Side Load Garbage Truck experience required
  • Experience as a Driver or Helper for a Refuge Company is Highly Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks for the pick-up service of bags or containers filled with waste or recyclable material.
  • Transport material to a disposal, transfer, or recycle facility, potentially making multiple trips per shift.
  • Perform driver pre and post-trip inspections to ensure truck compliance with safety standards, OSHA, DOT regulations, and local traffic laws.
  • Navigate through congested communities and confined or tight areas in city locations.
  • Perform highly skilled backing maneuvers.
  • Routinely climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.
