About The Position

Interstate Waste Services is hiring a CDL Class B Front Load Garbage Truck Driver for its Home Depot location in Old Bridge, New Jersey. The position pays $28.80 per hour and follows a Monday through Saturday schedule with a 4 a.m. start. It is year-round, steady work and includes a full benefits package with paid time off. Front-load experience in the waste services industry is required, and applicants must include their resume or job history. Drivers safely operate front-load trucks and transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities, potentially making multiple trips during a shift. The fleet includes both manual and automatic trucks. Routes may pass through congested communities and confined city areas, requiring skilled backing. Drivers perform pre- and post-trip inspections and ensure their trucks meet company safety standards, OSHA and DOT regulations, and local traffic laws. The role involves repeatedly getting in and out of the truck and may require lifting up to 50 pounds and moving or maneuvering up to 100 pounds.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
Hold a valid Class A or Class B CDL with an airbrake endorsement.
Have one year of CDL driving experience within the last seven years.
Have front-load experience in the waste services industry.
Maintain a great safety record and clean motor vehicle record.
Have a working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
Be able to speak and read English to communicate with the public, understand traffic and signals, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on reports and records.
Be able to read and understand a map.
Meet the physical and safety requirements of the position.
Be willing and able to work the required hours allowed under DOT regulations, which may include weekends, nights, or holidays.
Be able to perform skilled backing maneuvers and repeatedly climb in and out of the truck.
Be able to lift up to 50 pounds and move or maneuver up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

Safely operate front-load trucks.
Transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities and make one or more trips during a shift as needed.
Navigate routes that may include congested communities and confined or tight city areas, using skilled backing maneuvers.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections.
Ensure the truck complies with IWS safety standards, OSHA and DOT regulations, and local traffic laws before and during operation.
Climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
