About The Position

The Class B Diesel Mechanic is responsible for accurately inspecting, repairing, and completing routine preventative maintenance of Fleet Equipment. This includes standard component inspections and repairs. The role involves completing necessary documentation for repairs and maintenance, maintaining accurate records of work performed, parts used, and repairs/inspections completed through the online AssetWorks system. The mechanic will learn and assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools and technical manuals. Adherence to all company, local, state, and federal policies and regulations, including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, is crucial, ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct tool usage, PPE, machine guarding, and best safety practices. This position requires driving company vehicles and is regulated by the DOT, necessitating a current driver qualification file. Other projects or duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) with 2 plus years of related experience
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must possess own tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles
  • Ability to frequently lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 50 pounds, occasionally lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 100 pounds
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.

  • Drive Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management and customer vehicles, as regulated by the DOT and requiring a current driver qualification file.
  • Other projects or duties as assigned.
