About The Position

A Route Driver - Home Daily is responsible for the operation of a truck to collect fabrication material from slaughter facilities and on farm fallen animals. This is a steady full-time position with overtime usually available. The company guarantees a minimum of 40 hours per week, with overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week and for Saturday work. The role requires the driver to maintain an Electronic DOT log and be responsible for the company vehicle, operating it in accordance with all regulations and company policies. The driver must conduct all safety checks and inspections of the vehicle, observe all company safety rules, and complete a vehicle condition report daily. Maintaining excellent customer relations through quality, professional service is essential. All company-required paperwork must be completed daily. Attendance at all safety meetings is required, and the driver may be asked to serve on the Safety Committee. Other duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must possess a valid Class B CDL.
  • Must be registered on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/
  • Must be able to handle outside elements, summer heat and winter cold.

Responsibilities

  • Operates a truck to collect fabrication material from slaughter facilities and on farm fallen animals.
  • Collects and inspects products at time of pick up for any foreign or hazardous material at customer location.
  • Maintains an Electronic DOT log.
  • Responsible for company vehicle; operates vehicle in accordance with Company, federal, state and local regulations.
  • Conducts all safety checks and inspections of vehicle; operates vehicle under state, federal, local regulations and in accordance with company policy and procedures; observes all company safety rules.
  • Completes vehicle condition report on a daily basis; operates under all Company safety standards.
  • Maintains excellent customer relations by providing quality, professional service at all times.
  • Completes all company required paperwork in accordance with company policies on a daily basis.
  • Attends all safety meetings; may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
