About The Position

Structural Component Systems, Inc. (SCS) is seeking a full-time Class B CDL Driver in the Grimes, Iowa area. This role involves safely delivering building materials and components using a manual transmission straight truck. The driver will occasionally operate a truck-mounted forklift and be responsible for damage-free unloading. The position operates Monday through Friday with no weekends, offering flexibility in start times (typically around 7:00 AM) and ensuring drivers are home every night. SCS values safety and maintains a well-kept fleet.

Requirements

Class B driver's license.
Manual Transmission.
Clean driver's record.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders and have no fear of heights.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to read and write in English.
Ability to maintain good work attendance.
Positive, self-motivated, can do attitude, and requires very little supervision.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to use hand tools and nail gun.
Ability to use a tape measure.

Nice To Haves

2 years driving experience or Drivers training certificates.
Construction/foundation experience.
Excellent communication skills.
Forklift experience a plus, though not required.
Warehouse experience a plus, though not required.

Responsibilities

Make deliveries of product to jobsites.
Assist sales and design teams by measuring foundations on site.
Maintain equipment, keeping it in good condition for operation.
Drive safely and maintain all D.O.T regulations.
Measure foundations when needed.
Pick up and deliver product to customers, which may come from the warehouse or be picked up at a vendor and then delivered.
Keep inventory of the warehouse on a regular basis.
Clean and organize the warehouse area.
Complete minor truss fixes on site per MiTek architectural drawings using hand tools and a nail gun.
Assist SCS drivers by meeting them at job sites, picking up material, loading it onto the truck, and then delivering.
Ability to drive a forklift for loading and unloading.
Cleaning and maintaining company vehicles.
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
During slow times, perform misc. duties including but not limited to: cleaning and maintaining company vehicles, cleaning warehouse area, organizing warehouse products, and office and/or warehouse tasks as needed.
