About The Position

Chess Wizards is looking for energetic people to teach chess in summer camps for Summer 2026. They have developed an interactive day-camp format which includes all kinds of activities to keep kids both physically and mentally engaged during their time with them. Team chess games, puzzles, skill-building, and team and individual physical games are just some of the ways they integrate the whole person into their camp activities. A day in Chess Wizards camp might include: Exploration of a technical chess concept. Fun group challenges which hone specific chess thinking patterns. A healthy snack. A mini-tournament. Fun physical activities and camp games, like capture-the-flag and blob tag.

Requirements

• Willingness to teach through fun and innovative methods.
• Must be safety and security conscious.
• Ability to respond to emergency situations.
• Willingness to travel.
• Love chess.
• Ability to make chess fun for kids of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Assist our Chess Instructors in teaching chess to campers.
• Create a safe, supportive, stimulating, and fun environment for campers.
• Interact with campers, adding to the program by providing supervision for daily activities such as recreational games, and opening/closing.
• Assist in drop-off and pick-up of campers.
• Assist with daily set up and clean-up of camp.
• Supervise campers.
