About The Position

Doral Corporation is seeking a dependable and organized Class A Truck Driver with the physical and mental stamina to thrive on long hours while consistently ensuring safe and accurate deliveries. As a Class A Truck Driver, you'll operate delivery vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs., transporting tools and materials from origin to destination while representing Doral's commitment to reliability and safety. The ideal Class A Truck Driver is detail-oriented, efficient, and maintains a clean driving record.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A driver's license required - Manual transmission endorsement required
  • Clean driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years, and no DUIs or suspensions in the last five years
  • Must pass a background check, drug test, and DOT physical
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time and operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and similar equipment
  • Skilled and comfortable maneuvering and parking a tractor-trailer, with proficiency using GPS and other routing systems
  • Alert, focused, detail-oriented, disciplined, and dependable, with good stress management

Nice To Haves

  • heavy haul experience is a plus
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • 2+ years of proven tractor-trailer driving experience preferred
  • Strong sense of direction and resourcefulness

Responsibilities

  • Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned delivery vehicle
  • Safely operate your assigned delivery vehicle and drive trucks with a GVW over 26,000 lbs.
  • Transport tools and miscellaneous materials from the place of origin to the assigned destination
  • Pick up loads and organize goods in an ordered, logical manner, ensuring contents are properly secured to prevent breakage or damage
  • Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods at selected destinations
  • Obtain signatures or warehouse scans to confirm and complete deliveries with clients
  • Assist in mapping delivery routes, stay on the predetermined route, and ensure timely deliveries
  • Communicate with dispatch as needed and confirm shipment contents match the manifest document
  • Perform vehicle inspections before and after each trip, and check weather and road conditions before departure
  • Maintain and service your vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, check tire pressure, arrange repairs)
  • Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs, track working hours, and comply with ICC and DOT regulations
  • Follow delivery schedules, rest at appropriate times, and make safety a priority at all times
