About The Position

Superior is seeking a Class A Truck Driver for their Old Hickory, TN facility. This role involves delivering hazardous and non-hazardous freight, including drums, IBCs, and palletized items. Drivers will utilize electric pallet jacks for box deliveries and will be provided with all necessary PPE and equipment, including uniforms and ELDs/phones. In addition to driving, drivers will perform material handling duties such as transferring products, reading chemical amounts and blending instructions, pulling product samples, labeling containers, inspecting, labeling, storing, and preparing products for shipment, staging, loading, and unloading, operating a forklift, and maintaining a safe and clean work area. The role also includes using the CDL license to drive to local rail spurs for unloading, shuttling trailers, and cross-training in various areas like shipping/receiving, bulk handling, inventory control, chemical packaging, fiberglass handling, tote cleaning, preventive maintenance, and yard truck spotting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • CDL Class A license with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
  • Minimum 2 years of CDL-A driving experience (or equivalent)
  • Clean driving record for the past 3 years (both personal and professional) – no violations

Nice To Haves

  • Tanker experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Deliver hazardous and non-hazardous freight (drums, IBCs, palletized items).
  • Utilize electric pallet jacks for box deliveries.
  • Transfer products into and out of pails, drums, and totes using transfer pumps and hoses.
  • Read paperwork with chemical amounts and blending instructions.
  • Pull product samples and submit them to the Lab for quality control.
  • Label containers and secure closures.
  • Inspect, label, store, and prepare products for shipment.
  • Stage, load, and unload pails, drums, and totes.
  • Operate a forklift.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
  • Lift and/or move 55 lbs.
  • Use CDL license to drive to local rail spur and assist with unloading rail cars.
  • Shuttle trailers to and from the local repair shop.
  • Cross-train in areas such as shipping/receiving, bulk handling, inventory control, chemical packaging, fiberglass handling, tote cleaning, preventive maintenance, and yard truck spotting.
