About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a dedicated Class A Truck Driver to join our Thermo-Tech Windows team. This role involves transporting and delivering windows and doors to customers, including dealers, distribution centers, and construction job sites, using a tractor-trailer. The position requires a blend of safe driving practices, efficient delivery, and excellent customer service. The driver will be responsible for pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fueling the vehicle, and ensuring all DOT regulations are followed. A significant portion of the role involves travel, with some production duties also assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain a D.O.T. Medical Certificate
  • 2 years of previous tractor trailer driving experience including winter driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
  • Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
  • Customer relations skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
  • Must be able to load and unload items, with and without dollies, in various types of weather
  • Must be able to travel frequently
  • Must meet company appearance standards
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hands on delivery experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Transport, deliver, and/or unload Thermo-Tech’s windows and doors to customers in a safe and timely manner.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the equipment and report any issues.
  • Fuel the vehicle and authorize fuel bills.
  • Transport materials in a safe and efficient manner, observing all DOT regulations and defensive driving techniques.
  • Confer with clients regarding material unloading locations.
  • Safely unload materials, check quality, review packing slips with customers, and secure signatures.
  • Deal with customers in a courteous and professional fashion.
  • Pick up materials from vendors, verifying quality and quantity.
  • Return to plant and unload vehicle.
  • Rotate functions with the department as needed.
  • Work as a contributing member of the department team.
  • Perform all functions according to safety principles, company policies, and procedures.
  • Notify Shipping Supervisor of any existing or potential safety issues.
  • Report any incidents and accidents promptly.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation neatly, timely, and accurately, including driver’s logs and timecards.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in the department.
  • Communicate effectively across and within company departments.
